| Description | Individuals or entities intending to run a hotel or guesthouse business must satisfy the following: 1. Be able to conduct business in the Lao PDR; 2. Have no criminal records or have been sentenced for wrong doing; 3. Foreign investors must provide details of their biography and background, including technical and financial qualifications; 4. Only individuals who are Lao Citizens are permitted to operate hotels and guesthouses; 5. Have obtained business registration from the relevant authorities at the Provincial-Municipal level; 6. Have registered with the relevant tax authorities; and 7. Obtained permission from the Cabinet Office of the Municipality or Provincial Tourism Authority to operate a hotel or guesthouse. |
