Decision

of Acting Minister

on Facility Provision for Cross-Border Goods Transportation

 

  • Pursuant to the Government’s priority plan for turning Lao PDR into the transit service country
  • Pursuant the conference held on 30/05/2006 at the MCTPC, concerning the consultation on the capacity of increasing the load for cross-border goods transportation vehicle in the Lao PDR
  • Pursuant to the meeting between the Government and businesspersons, dated 31/05/2006 at the Lao Plaza Hotel, Vientiane Capital.

 

The Minister agrees:

Article 1. To allow the increase in the load of transportation vehicle for the National Road No. 9 (Savannaket-Moukdaharn) which is the East-West Corridor and the National Road No. 3 (Boten-Houaixai) up to 11 Ton/shaft (refer to the attached Table), after complete the construction and upgrade of such roads.

Article 2.  For other roads, Department of Road and Bridge and Department of Transportation shall coordinate with the Division of Communication, Transport, Post and Construction of provinces and Capital City to conduct a survey in order to set up the plan for upgrading the road weight bearing capacity to reach the same level as the National Road No. 9 and the National Road No. 3.

Article 3. The Department of Planning and Cooperation shall take the initiative in coordinating with the Department of Road and Bridge and Department of Transportation to develop the road renovation plan for other roads in order to upgrade the weight bearing capacity of the road to a higher level step-by-step. Article 4. This Decision shall be effective from the date it is signed.
