Progress report meeting on the development of Lao Services Portal

On 05 April 2017, at the Crown Plaza hotel, Vientiane Capital, the Department of Foreign Trade Policy held a meeting on progress report of the development of Lao Services Portal. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Laohua Cheuching, Director General of the Department of Foreign Trade Policy and participants from line ministries and concerned sectors for more than 60 persons. On 05 April 2017, at the Crown Plaza hotel, Vientiane Capital, the Department of Foreign Trade Policy held a meeting on progress report of the development of Lao Services Portal. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Laohua Cheuching, Director Generals of the Department of Foreign Trade Policy and participants from line ministries and concerned sectors for more than 60 persons.

Lao Services Portal (LSP) is intended to provide and assist domestic and foreign business owners and investors to access key information, including the laws, regulations, measures, procedures and forms which are necessary for their business operation related to trade in services and investment.   

Any enquiries or questions that received will be forwarded to concerned agency or focal point, who’s in the position to answering those questions and delivers the answer back to enquirer through the LSP administrative unit which located at the Department of Foreign Trade Policy, Ministry of Industry and Commerce.  

There are two main objectives of the meeting, first was to report on the progress of the development of LSP, and second was to review and consult with participants on the draft Ministerial Decision regarding LSP focal points with related agencies. Which the purpose of the Decision is to be the guidelines for each focal point to provide trade in services related information to LSP administrative unit. The draft Decision defined principles, role and responsibilities and working mechanism for LSP administrative unit and each focal point.
